Fiction: Women’s Fiction, Romance,
Tone: Upbeat even though she deals with some serious emotional issues.
Take Away: After the death of his womanizing son, a paternal grandfather learns he has grandchildren he never knew existed. Even though he welcomes them into the family fold, they each carry the emotional baggage of parental neglect. The story is part fairy tale, (Who wouldn’t want a wealthy relative to come to the rescue?) and part romance, (two love stories!). As usual, Susan Mallery’s characters captured my heart and kept me reading. They display courage, self-awareness, and warmth, even when they make mistakes or errors in judgment. (Sigh, for men THAT understanding.) If only real people could handle adversity in such a positive way, the world would be a better place.
FYI: The book does contain explicit love scenes.
