Eight Dates: Essential Conversations for a Lifetime of Love

Eight Dates: Essential Conversations for a Lifetime of Love

Authors: John M. Gottman, Julie Schwartz Gottman, Doug Abrams, Rachel Carlton Abrams

Non Fiction
Tone: Positive, encouraging, and honest
Take Away: Romantic relationships may require work, but that work CAN be fun. The authors suggest eight dates and key conversations that will benefit and strengthen any loving relationship.
How I discovered this title: The authors made an appearance on a Seattle television news program.
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Issues such as sex, family, work, or money don’t have to result in conflict. The book includes worksheets, quizzes, and open-ended questions that encourage non-confrontational and positive communication between partners.

Whether newly committed or long married, couples will benefit from not only a dedicated time spent together, but time spent learning more about each other. As the authors write, “…the point is you should never stop being curious about your partner, never stop falling in love, and never stop asking each other questions that matter.”
